The ALMEMO® 2690-8 is packed full of state-of-the-art technology. Its delta-sigma A/D converter ensures that measured values are extremely accurate. Its flash microprocessor performs all internal computing with extreme rapidity and precision. The firmware can be updated quickly and easily by anyone whenever necessary. The ALMEMO® 2690-8 is thus always at the very cutting edge of development.
The rubberized non-slip cover provides excellent protection against impact and allows the instrument to be held comfortably and securely in the user's hand. The new ALMEMO® sensor connectors are fitted with a double-sealing lip to protect against dust and moisture, and any sockets not being used can be covered by means of dummy plugs.
Plug & Play - Just connect the sensor and start measuring! Virtually any sensor can be plugged into any of the input sockets on the ALMEMO® 2690-8 without the need for any extra modules; the sensor type will be recognized fully automatically and the measured values displayed with the appropriate engineering units. For use with standard series-produced sensors there is no need for any extra programming; if you wish to use your own sensors we provide appropriately pre-programmed connectors ready fitted with screw terminals and strain-relief for quick and easy connection. The comprehensive ALMEMO® range includes sensors suitable for all sectors of industry and all possible applications.
Brightly illuminated graphics display: The graphics display on the ALMEMO® 2690-8, brightly illuminated with five white LEDs, shows all measured values in an ideal, easy-to-read way in real time during measuring. It also provides clear, easy-to-understand user guidance. Up to 20 measured values can be displayed numerically in different sizes or in the form of a bar chart or line diagram. The operating steps are assigned to three menu groups: measuring, programming, and help menus.
Help wizards for quick and easy operation: Help menus guide the user through specific tasks with all the necessary functions. The wizard leads the user interactively through the appropriate programming steps. For particularly important functions context-sensitive explanatory help texts also appear. This user guidance system ensures that even relatively complicated configurations and programming steps can be performed more or less effortlessly. The user can return to the most recent measuring menu at the touch of a button.
Outputting data: A wide variety of interfaces can be connected to the output sockets on the ALMEMO® 2690-8 via appropriate connecting cables. Cables are available for the following interfaces: RS-232, RS-422, fiber-optic, USB, Ethernet, and Centronics. The ALMEMO® measuring instruments have an integrated distributor for the purpose of linking up a number of devices via network cables. Using our measured value acquisition software, Win-Control, it is possible to have the measuring channels from all networked devices evaluated on the PC as if they were all one device. The output sockets on the ALMEMO® 2690-8 are also suitable for connecting an analog output cable, relay output cable, and even a trigger cable to remotely start and stop logging.
