THERMOANEMOMETER:

Thermistors and hot wire sensors have very sensitive measuring elements. The measuring element is continuously heated. The temperature of the element which is cooled by the ambient temperature is held constant by regulating circuit power via the instrument. The regulating power is proportional to the air velocity.

Advantages: Very slow air velocities are measurable (starting from 0)
Types for direction independent measurements available (omni-
directional)

Disadvantages: Sensitive to mechanical use and to pollution
High power consumption
Limited ambient temperature
