The Model MA2390-5 Datalogger is the most innovative and versatile indicating instrument available today. As part of the ALMEMO family of  instruments, the MA2390-5 Datalogger may be connected to virtually any sensor. It features RS232 and analog (mV) outputs for recording measured data. When connected directly to a computer, multiple ALMEMO instruments may be networked together and interrogated per user-assigned instrument addresses. The MA2390-5 Datalogger features three separate input channels and a fourth, virtual channel, on  which the difference between the first two channels may be viewed (and output via RS232 or analog). Additionally, the unit may be ordered with internal memory or retrofitted with external memory modules so that data logging may be performed.  The information stored in the external memory modules may be downloaded to a PC whether or not the modules are connected to the instrument.

The MA2390-5 Datalogger uses the patented ALMEMO connection system, whereby sensor-specific parameters are stored in non-volatile memory in the sensor's connection plug and remain with the sensor! A wide variety of factory made sensors are available, including those to measure pressure, liquid and air flow, temperature, light intensity, pH, conductivity, gas concentration (CO2, O2, and CO), relative humidity, rotational speed, linear displacement, etc.. Also, inexpensive ALMEMO connection plugs are available for connecting sensors with electrical outputs to the logger. With these "blank" plugs, virtually any sensor may be connected to the logger and programmed to display in correct engineering units and scaling factor, making the MA2390-5 Datalogger a truly Universal Portable Indicator!

Sensor calibration changes may be made via microprocessor interface, whereby zero and span changes may be made easily and accurately, and the changes remain with the sensor (stored in the Almemo plug). For certain sensors, multiple measurements (4 max.) are available from each input channel. For instance, with a relative humidity probe the air temperature and the relative humidity as well as the calculated variables dew point, mixture ratio, or partial vapor pressure may be viewed.
