Series V2 Vortex Flowmeter CLARK SOLUTIONS
Series V2 Vortex Flowmeter
1/2” to 3” Pipe Size, PVC, CPVC, PP or PVDF Construction

DESCRIPTION

The operation of the Universal vortex flow meter is based on the vortex shedding principle. As fluid moves around a body, vortices (eddies) are formed and move downstream. They form alternately, from one side to the other, causing pressure fluctuations.  These are sensed by a piezoelectric crystal in the sensor tube, and are converted to a 4-20 mA or pulse signal. The frequency of the vortices is directly proportional to the flow. This results in extremely accurate and repeatable measurements with no troublesome moving parts.

A compact two-wire transmitter is a conveniently replaceable plug-in electronics module, located in a corrosion-resistant housing.

Unlike stainless steel or paddle wheel designs, the vortex sensor is perfect for aggressive or easily contaminated flow media.  Applications range from corrosive chemicals to ultrapure water. Although pre-calibrated for specific uses, units can be recalibrated in the field. Potentiometers are provided to adjust for zero and span, anywhere from 10 to 100 percent, without increasing the unit’s minimum readable flow or reducing accuracy.
