TAPFLO®
METAL SERIES DIAPHRAGM PUMPS
Pneumatically Powered Diaphragm Pumps For Liquids

DESCRIPTION
The Metal series consists of 5 sizes, covering the capacity range 0-420 liters per minute.

Since 1970 these pumps have satisfied the concept of reliability with minimum components enabling easy maintenance. A wide range of construction materials handles a range of pH-neutral fluid media.

Every Tapflo pump goes through an accurate quality check and test run before shipment. All pumps are CE-marked and meet the European Community Machinery Directives. The pumps are shipped with a detailed manual that provides installation, service and parts information.

HOW IT WORKS
The two diaphragms, connected by a
diaphragm shaft, are pushed back
and forth by alternately pressurizing
the air chambers behind the
diaphragms using an automatically
cycling air valve system.
One diaphragm creates a suction
action(1) when being pulled back
from the housing. The other
diahragm simultaneously transmits the air pressure to the liquid in the housing, pushing it towards the discharge port(2).

During each cycle the air pressure on the back of the discharging diaphragm is equal to the head pressure on the liquid side. Tapflo diaphragm pumps can therefore be operated against a closed discharge valve with no adverse affect to the life of the diaphragms.

A-Flexible Installations- The connections may be rotated up to 180° to simplify integration into machines and piping systems.
B-Completely tight pump housing seals both toward the diaphragm and connections.
C-Maintenance free air valve of brass operates without lube air. It does not pollute and operation has no deadlock.
D- Long life diaphragms have sandwich compound construction with superior strength & chemical resistance(PTFE, EPDM or NBR).
A threaded metal core makes for easy diaphragm replacement.
Tapflo diaphragm pumps have very few parts and are easy and quick to maintain.

CAPACITY CHANGES

THE WIDE RANGING APPLICATIONS
The metal pump is useful to a wide range of applications in workshops, paint and coating industry and waste handling to name a few.
The pumps transfer most kinds of pH-neutral fluids, both thin, thick, solid laden or abrasive.
Oils, fats, paint, glue, solvents are typical fluid media applications for the metal series.

Tapflo metal pumps can be mounted in a variety of ways

Tapflo T170 for transfer of waste products and oil from a separator.
OTHER TAPFLO PRODUCTS

Pumps made from conductive (carbon filled) PE or PTFE for use in explosion hazardous environments

Twin pump piping arrangement

Twin pump piping arrangement is ideal when pumping two different liquids separated from each other, in the same pump. Used for glue and ink etc.

A stroke counter is an easy way to pump a preset
volume of fluid. The number of strokes are preset via an
LED display and the electronic unit then controls the
pump auomatically.

TR20, T50 and T100 are available in drum pump version. The pump has a handle in stainless steel and the pump tube can be delivered in any length up to 2 m.

In applications with critical safety needs a diaphragm monitor can be supplied. The monitor will alarm and shut down the pump in case of a diaphragm break.

Diaphragm acting pumps have an inherent pulsating flow output. A pulsation dampener is offered for applications where this cannot be tolerated.
