TAPFLO®
PE & PTFE SERIES DIAPHRAGM PUMPS
Pneumatically Powered Diaphragm Pumps For Liquids

DESCRIPTION
The PE and PTFE series of diaphragm pumps for liquids consists of 6 sizes, covering the capacity range 0-400 liters per minute.

Since 1970 these pumps have
satisfied the concept of reliability
with minimum components enabling easy maintenance. A wide range of construction materials handles fluid media from water to concentrated acids.

Every Tapflo DIAPHRAGM pump goes through an accurate quality check and test run before shipment.
All pumps are CEmarked and meet the European Community Machinery Directives. These DIAPHRAGM pumps are shipped with a detailed manual that provides installation, service and parts information.

HOW IT WORKS
The two diaphragms, connected by a
diaphragm shaft, are pushed back
and forth by alternately pressurizing
the air chambers behind the
diaphragms using an automatically
cycling air valve system.
One diaphragm creates a suction
action(1) when being pulled back
from the housing. The other
diahragm simultaneously transmits the air pressure to the liquid in the housing, pushing it towards the discharge port(2).

During each cycle the air pressure on the back of the discharging diaphragm is equal to the head pressure on the liquid side. Tapflo diaphragm pumps can therefore be operated against a closed discharge valve with no adverse affect to the life of the diaphragms.

A-Flexible Installations- The connections may be rotated up to 180° to suit your piping. Threaded plastic connections are standard, 316 SS or flange available.
B-Machined PE & PTFE body materials offer best mechanical strength, wear resistance and media compatibility.
C-Maintenance free air valve of brass or SS operates without lube air. It does not pollute and operation has no deadlock.
D- Long life diaphragms have sandwich compound construction with superior strength & chemical resistance(PTFE, EPDM or NBR).
Tapflo diaphragm pumps have very few parts and are easy and quick to maintain.

THE WIDE RANGING APPLICATIONS
The pumps are suitable for almost any kind of liquid; thin, thick or with solids. Pure PTFE will manage even the strongest acids. Below are a few examples of fields where Tapflo is successfully used.

CHEMICAL INDUSTRY
Transfer of all kind of acids, alkalis, alcohols, solvent and shear sensitive products such as latex and emulsions.

SURFACE CONDITIONING
Transport of chemicals from storage tanks, containers and baths.

WATER TREATMENT
Pumping samples, dosing acids and alkalis for pH-control. Transfer of flocculants, suspensions, chemical reagents and sludges. The pumps are resistant to hydrochloric acid and ferric chlorite, plus many others.

PAPER INDUSTRY
Transport of glue, sodium silicate, color and titanium oxide etc.

FOOD INDUSTRY
Transfer and spraying of cleaning liquids. Pumping of flavorings and pigments.

Twin pump piping arrangement

Twin pump piping arrangement is ideal when pumping two different liquids separated from each other, in the same pump. Used for glue and ink etc.
an easy way to pump a preset volume of fluid.

A stroke counter is an easy way to pump a preset volume of fluid. The number of strokes are preset via an LED display and the electronic unit then controls the pump auomatically.
TR20, T50 and T100 are available in drum pump version

TR20, T50 and T100 are available in drum pump version. The pump has a handle in stainless steel and the pump tube can be delivered in any length up to 2 m.
a diaphragm monitor

In applications with critical safety needs a diaphragm monitor can be supplied. The monitor will alarm and shut down the pump in case of a diaphragm break.
Diaphragm acting pump

Diaphragm acting pumps have an inherent pulsating flow output. A pulsation dampener is offered for applications where this cannot be tolerated.
